There are certain tasks better left to professionals. Just ask anyone who has tried to paint their house, cut their kids’ hair or used an online service to do their taxes. Estate planning is one project that’s not a do-it-yourselfer; you can save yourself some significant trouble by consulting a specialist. Creating an estate plan now–regardless of your age or net worth–will manage your assets and ensure that your heirs’ immediate and future needs will be taken care of. After all, you don’t want someone else making decisions about what happens with your savings, investments, real estate and other assets. Your situation is unique and may involve minor children or children with special needs, blended families, retirement accounts, business ownership, loss of capacity or keeping assets in the family. It might seem daunting to plan for all the possible exigencies of life, and this is where it pays to consult with a professional. To this end, I will be hosting a Community Education Seminar on May 3rd to help folks feel informed, reassured and equipped to move forward with your personal estate planning. I hope you will join me! For a flyer with details, email me at Sharon@SharonHales.com.
